Expedition Forces has been involved in remote recovery operations around the world for more than a decade, supporting the recovery of high-value equipment and payloads in challenging and difficult-to-access environments. That real-world experience forms the foundation of our Remote Recovery Operations Course.
The course is designed both for professionals already working in aerospace, field operations, expedition logistics or recovery who want practical hands-on training, and for individuals looking to build experience for future work in remote recovery operations.
Over five intensive days, participants gain realistic field experience in expedition planning, navigation, communications, leadership, wilderness logistics, emergency response and practical asset recovery. You will work as part of a recovery team, deal with changing conditions, solve operational problems in the field and take part in a full simulated recovery mission involving the location, assessment and extraction of a training payload.
The course is built around the realities of remote operations, where communications can fail, access can become difficult, weather can change and the original plan may no longer work. The aim is to give participants practical experience that can strengthen their professional capability, CV and readiness for real-world recovery work.
For those interested in entering the industry, the course also provides an opportunity to demonstrate field skills, teamwork, leadership and decision-making in a realistic environment. Strong participants may be considered for future Expedition Forces projects or our wider network of recovery and expedition operations where suitable opportunities arise.
This is not a conventional survival course. It is practical field-readiness training for people who want to operate safely, professionally and effectively in real remote recovery environments.
Can you complete the recovery when the original plan is gone?

Itinerary Summary
The Remote Recovery Operations Course covers the complete recovery process, from mission planning and deployment through to search, site assessment, recovery and extraction.
Over five days, participants train in navigation, communications, expedition logistics, field leadership, risk assessment, emergency response, search planning, payload handling and recovery procedures. Practical exercises introduce realistic challenges such as difficult access, inaccurate coordinates, communications failure, equipment problems and changing field conditions.
The course concludes with a full simulated recovery operation where participants must plan, deploy, locate and safely extract a training payload as a team.

Arrive in Brazil
Fly to Manaus where we will pick you up from the airport or from your hotel before heading in the jungle. We will bring you to our boatlanding.
Survive the Isolation
As the course progresses, you will face increasingly realistic recovery scenarios involving navigation, communications, leadership and field problem-solving.
The course ends with a full simulated recovery mission where your team must plan, deploy, locate the payload and organise its safe extraction with limited instructor support.
Speedboat to Jaguar Base
From the boatlanding in Manaus we will travel for 2 hours west until we meet Jaguar base where we will hammock up right at the rivers edge and begin with the first recovery planning, navigation and communications exercises before progressing into more demanding terrain and realistic recovery scenarios.

Training Phase
The first phase focuses on the core skills needed for remote recovery operations, including mission planning, navigation, communications, field safety, logistics, team roles and recovery procedures.
Day 1
Field Operations Phase
Participants move into practical field exercises where they apply their skills in realistic scenarios involving difficult access, search planning, changing conditions, equipment problems and team decision-making.
Day 2 - 3
Recovery Mission Phase
The team is given a simulated recovery task and must plan, deploy, navigate to the recovery area, locate the payload, assess the site and organise its safe extraction with limited instructor support.
Day 4
Evacuation and departure
The course finishes with a structured after-action review. Participants evaluate what went well, what could be improved and how their performance translates to real-world recovery operations.
